Membership-based care for ADHD, Anxiety, & Depression

ADHD / Attention & Focus Concerns

  1. Schedule an initial evaluation.

This 90 minute visit allows Dr. Dilts to get to know you and your child. As part of the initial evaluation, multiple written assessments will be completed by the parent and the child (if age 8 years or older) and at least one teacher. You can choose to complete all of the forms prior to the initial evaluation or afterwards.

Dr. Dilts follows the American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations for diagnosing and treating ADHD. This is a very thorough assessment and treatment includes a combination of behavioral and educational interventions and if indicated, medications.

Assessments include: Vanderbilt Assessment Scale (parent and teacher), Patient Health Questionnaire 9 (child), Screen for Child Anxiety Related Disorders (parent and teacher), Child and Adolescent Trauma Screen (parent and child).

Initial visits are typically done in-person at Bloom Pediatrics. However, if you live far from Bloom and would like to do your initial visit via telehealth, email Dr. Dilts and this can be arranged.

2. Receive an accurate and complete diagnosis.

Dr. Dilts works with patient and parent to implement behavioral modifications and educational interventions. Family receives an individualized ADHD treatment plan. Medications are initiated if indicated and desired. Shared decision-making is practiced.

3. Receive ongoing support and education.

Check-ins are done at least monthly at first, and a minimum of every 3 months when patients are doing well. Repeat assessments (including Vanderbilt Assessment Scales for parent and teacher, Patient Health Questionnaire 9, and Screen for Child Anxiety Related Disorders for parent and child) are done at least every 3 months.
